KARANJ PEND

Karanja cake is the residue obtained from karanja seed kernels which have been crushed to extract the oil. Karanja cake is rich in N-P-K and is an excellent organic fertilizer known to enrich the soil and protect the plant.

Karanj Pend, also known as Karanja Cake or Karanja Powder, is derived from the seeds of the Karanja tree (Pongamia pinnata) and is used as a natural fertilizer and pest control agent.

Here’s how to use it effectively for plants:

As a Fertilizer
Preparation:

Karanj Pend can be applied directly to the soil or mixed with compost. If using as a direct application, you might want to mix it with water to create a slurry.

Application:

Direct Soil Application: Spread the Karanj Pend evenly around the base of the plants. The recommended amount is typically 1-2 tablespoons per plant, depending on the size and type of plant.
Incorporation: Lightly work the powder into the top layer of the soil to ensure it integrates well.
Frequency: Apply once every 4-6 weeks during the growing season for optimal results.

As a Pest Control
Preparation: Mix Karanj Pend with water to create a paste or slurry. A common ratio is 1 part Karanj Pend to 5 parts water.

Application:

Soil Drench: Apply the slurry directly to the soil around the plants. This helps in controlling soil-borne pests and diseases.
Foliar Spray: If using as a foliar spray, ensure the mixture is well-strained to avoid clogging the sprayer. Spray evenly on the leaves and stems of the plants.
Frequency: Use every 2-3 weeks as needed, depending on pest pressure and plant response.
