✅ Suitable For: Kharif Season
✅ Seed Rate: 2–2.5 kg/acre
✅ Seed Treatment: Use fungicide like Thiram or Carbendazim (2g/kg seed) before sowing.
📌 Step-by-Step Growing Guide:
Soil Requirement:
Light to medium well-drained soils
pH between 6.5 to 8.0
Land Preparation:
Plough the land 2–3 times for fine tilth
Apply 5–10 tons of FYM/acre
Sowing Time:
Ideal during June–July (monsoon onset)
Spacing:
Row-to-row: 45 cm
Plant-to-plant: 10–15 cm
Irrigation:
Generally rainfed, but provide 1–2 irrigations if needed during dry spells
Weed Control:
First weeding at 20–25 days after sowing
Harvesting:
Ready in 85–90 days
Harvest when grains are hard and golden brown
