A moss stick that is 5 feet long is suitable for large climbing plants that require substantial support and space to grow.
Preparing the Moss Stick: Ensure the moss covering the stick is moistened before use. This helps maintain humidity and provides a suitable medium for aerial roots to attach.
Positioning: Place the moss stick in the center of the plant’s pot, ensuring it reaches all the way to the bottom for stability. Adjust the position if necessary to support the plant’s growth.
Attaching the Plant: Guide the climbing plant’s stems or aerial roots onto the moss stick. For larger plants, you may need to gently wrap the aerial roots around the moss stick or press them against it. Avoid tying too tightly to prevent damage to the plant.
Securing the Plant: Use soft plant ties, twine, or strips of fabric to loosely secure the plant to the moss stick. Be gentle to avoid damaging the plant or its roots. As the plant grows, continue to guide new stems or aerial roots onto the moss stick and adjust the ties or supports as needed.
