Other Features And Applications : Its sprouts have beautiful, lilac or pale-white colored stems that produce two vivid green, lobed cotyledons. Kohlrabi microgreens aren’t all looks, though. Each sprout contains lots of Vitamin C as well as calcium potassium, Vitamin B6, fiber, iron, and many other nutritional vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants.
Soak the Seeds:
Soak Kohlrabi Green microgreen seeds in water for 4-6 hours to enhance germination.
Prepare the Growing Medium:
Fill a shallow tray with a light, well-draining soil or a microgreen growing medium. Ensure the soil is evenly moistened but not waterlogged.
Sow the Seeds:
Evenly scatter the soaked seeds across the surface of the soil. Spread them uniformly to prevent overcrowding.
Cover and Germinate:
Lightly press the seeds into the soil without covering them completely. Place another tray on top to create darkness, aiding germination. Keep the tray in a warm, dark place.
Water Regularly:
Check the soil daily to keep it moist but not overly wet. Mist with water as needed to maintain consistent moisture.
Provide Light:
After 3-4 days, once the seeds have germinated, remove the cover tray and expose the seedlings to indirect sunlight or grow lights. Aim for about 12-16 hours of light per day.
Maintain and Harvest:
Continue to water the microgreens daily, ensuring the soil remains moist. After 8-12 days, when the microgreens are about 2-3 inches tall and have their first true leaves, they are ready to harvest.
Harvest:
Use clean scissors to cut the microgreens just above the soil line. Gently rinse them and use fresh in salads, sandwiches, or as a garnish.
