From seeding to maturity, mint takes about 90 days. This means that it will achieve its full height, generally of 1 to 2 feet, and it will be ready to harvest. At this point you can cut mint down to 1 inch above the soil, and it will regrow to harvest height again in a month and a half or so.

Sow the Seeds: Fill small pots or seed trays with the prepared soil. Scatter the mint seeds on the surface and lightly press them into the soil, ensuring they are not buried too deep. Mint seeds need light to germinate.
Water the Seeds: Mist the soil gently with water to keep it moist. Avoid overwatering as this can wash away the seeds.
Cover and Warm: Cover the pots or trays with a clear plastic lid or plastic wrap to create a humid environment. Place them in a warm area with a temperature around 70°F (21°C).
Germination: Mint seeds usually take 10-15 days to germinate. Once seedlings appear, remove the plastic cover.
Transplant Seedlings: When seedlings have at least two sets of true leaves, they can be transplanted to larger pots or directly into the garden. Space the plants about 12-18 inches apart to allow room for growth.
Care for the Plants: Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist. Mint prefers moist soil but does not tolerate waterlogged conditions.
Harvesting: Once the mint plants are well-established and have enough leaves, you can start harvesting. Regularly trim the plants to encourage bushier growth and prevent flowering, which can make the leaves less flavorful.
Maintenance: Mint can be invasive, so consider planting it in containers or using barriers if growing in the garden to prevent it from spreading uncontrollably. Trim back the plants regularly to maintain their shape and promote healthy growth.
